the ning da’s mind never strays very far from its rabid fangirl-ness even when reading legal theory, feminism, postmodernism etc though i’m so confused/stoned/braindead i can’t tell you which of these theories (if any single one alone) i’m applying here. i read the book through the night/morning so it’s not my fault yo~ but it’s prolly some sort of feminism? the seme/uke distinction is like a way to reconcile the seemingly deviant (in the sense that it doesn’t conform to the societal norm… no other implications 
) slashy relationship with the socially perceived norm of the relationship, i.e. that a relationship is made of male & female together with all that man/woman distinction where the man is dominant over the weaker, inferior “other”, by relegating feminine characteristic like passiveness to the uke. like the butch/femme thingie in the book ne~ reflecting/imitating the “natural” kind of relationship (but “natural” doesn’t exist cos everything we know is based on our language/culture so nothing is really universal) someone needs to go write papers on the seme/uke dynamic ne~ *cough* DJ mangaka, maybe? the ning da would be interested in reading ne~ it also applies to how leader is too balanced to be slashed ne~ because for us, so conditioned to the norm that anything deviating from it is strange at least and unimaginable at the worst, relationship must have a man&woman type (to generalise a lot) and leader who is balanced fits in neither? so therefore poor him (or lucky him ) is excluded ne~

so i haven’t been writing anything cos legal theory is killing my brain or at least winding it round&round in circles (it’s interesting & thought provoking but way too much! ) that i think i’ve lost the ability to think and obtained a more warped sense of humour cos… the book was amusing. *dies* basically law & philosophy and any combinations of the two spell death to crack & ebilness. *mourns*
